Child Safety Week 2026: Making Prevention Possible

Child Safety Week takes place from Monday 1 to Sunday 7 June 2026, with this year’s theme, “Making Prevention Possible.

Led by the Child Accident Prevention Trust, Child Safety Week is a national campaign that brings together families, professionals and communities to raise awareness of child safety and prevent accidents.

 

The campaign aims to support parents and carers to feel confident in managing everyday risks to children’s safety. By making small, practical changes, families can help prevent serious accidents and keep children safe as they grow and explore.

Supporting parents and carers

Throughout the week, a range of free resources are available to help families take simple steps to improve safety at home and in everyday situations. These include:

  • Easy‑to‑follow advice on common accident risks
  • Bite‑sized safety tips for parents and carers
  • Activity sheets and guidance for families
  • Practical tools to support safer routines at home
