Safeguarding Week 2024

Safeguarding Week 2024 is nearly upon us. This year the theme is 'All Age Exploitation'.

Safeguarding Week runs from 11 November through to 15 November 2024 and events are happening all over the Island. The calendar of events can be found here and a poster for downloading here

The Wellbeing Partnerships will again be holding drop-ins in conjunction with  community policing and social housing professionals where available. Here colleagues will be looking at how to spot the signs of exploitation. Education is joining up with Crimestoppers to raise awareness around Fearless which is Crimestoppers for young people aged 11-16.

Colleagues from Adult Social Care are running exploitation workshops and colleagues from the health world are running Exploitation from a health perspective workshops. Children's social care are running a Child Exploitation "preventing victim blaming language" workshop

The Third Sector is also getting involved with workshop being run in the lead-up to Safeguarding Week aimed at Charity Volunteers. There will also be broadcast bites on Manx Radio broadcast throughout the week where our Exploitation Practitioner will be talking all things child exploitation.

The Police are also getting involved running community initiatives throughout the week.

There is a lot going on again, not forgetting it is also anti-bullying week in schools.
